How to Watch, BetSaracen odds: Arkansas vs. Missouri
The season hasn’t gone quite the way the Arkansas Razorbacks (2-9, 0-7 SEC) thought it would, and it wraps up on Saturday in the 2025 edition of the Battle Line Rivalry against the Missouri Tigers (7-4, 3-4 SEC) at Razorback Stadium.
The Razorbacks went through a coaching change mid-season, as Sam Pittman was fired after the Hogs’ blowout loss to Notre Dame in Week 5. They’re staring down the barrel of their third 2-10 season since 2018.
After Pittman was fired, offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino took over as the interim and immediately fired defensive coordinator Travis Williams and co-defensive coordinator Marcus Woodson, as well as defensive line coach Deke Adams. He had the opportunity to earn the full-time head coaching position, but the Hogs have lost six games under his interim head coach status.
The games have been close, but close only works in horseshoes and hand grenades. The Hogs had three-point losses to Tennessee and Texas A&M, as well as fourth-quarter collapses to Auburn, Mississippi State and LSU and a 52-37 blowout loss to Texas last weekend.
“It’s been difficult. I can’t say it hasn’t been difficult,” Petrino said Monday. “There’s a staff that was already in place. There are guys in the building that you didn’t hire, you’re trying to make it so everybody has a good experience. You’re trying to go out and compete on the field, find ways to win.
“We haven’t been able to do that. We’ve gotten very close a number of times and then just didn’t follow through with it. So it hasn’t been like the funnest thing I’ve ever done in my life, I can tell you that. But, you know, we just tried to make it about the players and them having, you know, encouraging them to do well.”
