Coach Speak: Kell (Ga.) head coach May talks Agyemang's recent GT commitment

Georgia Tech picked up its 18th commitment and second tight end of the 2026 class on Tuesday when 3-star Nathan Agyemang made it official with his decision to commit to the Jackets over other finalists NC State and Duke.

Recently, JOL caught up with Agyemang’s head coach at Kell High in Marietta, Georgia, Bobby May, to discuss his standout tight end’s commitment, what kind of player Georgia Tech fans should expect, how his skills translate to the college level and more.

Here’s what he had to say:

JOL: How excited are you for Nathan to make his commitment to Georgia Tech and to have a little bit of that recruiting stress off of him early?

MAY: “Very excited for Nate. He’s come a long way from a wide receiver to now a tight end. I’m glad he can play without stress now and continue to show the world his skills.”

JOL: What do you think about how Tech recruited Nathan or what makes Tech the right fit for him?

MAY: “(Georgia Tech offensive coordinator Buster) Faulkner and the Tech offensive staff did a great job. Their offense utilizes multiple tight end sets and allows flexibility for Nate to show his skillset.”

JOL: What should Georgia Tech fans expect from Nathan as a player and a person for those that might not have seen him play or know about him yet?

MAY: “He’s a great person. He’s big and moves fast. He’s developing as a blocker and has elite wide receiver skills.”

JOL: What do you feel about Nathan’s skillset and mindset translates well to the college level and do you see him being an impact player early on at Georgia Tech next year?

MAY: “He will outwork the competition and continue to get better on the field. I think he can find himself a role very early!”
