Max Bredeson, Ernest Hausmann's status for Ohio State clash in doubt

As Michigan’s season has been riddled with unavailable players and injuries on both sides of the ball, the Wolverines could be without two of their captains for their biggest game of the season against Ohio State: Fullback Max Bredeson and linebacker Ernest Hausmann.

Speaking with the media during his weekly press conference on Monday, U-M head coach Sherrone Moore did not offer anything to suggest that Bredeson and Hausmann will definitely be available on Saturday, but left the door open to see how the week of practice develops for the two.

Bredeson, who only played eight snaps in the win over Maryland, left the game with an apparent foot injury, as he was spotted with a boot and crutches on the sideline.

After the game, Moore told the Big Ten Network that it “didn’t look good” for the offensive captain and reiterated a similar message on Monday.

“Max (had) X-rays, we’ll see,” Moore said. “Didn’t look great, but if anybody can push through it, it’s Max Bredesen. So we’ll know more as we go through the week.”

As for Hausmann, he did not travel with the program to Maryland, and the BTN broadcast said that his absence was not injury or disciplinary-related.

Moore has not explained Hausmann’s absence and continues to reiterate that the defensive captain could make a return to the practice field.

“Ernest will be day-to-day,” Moore said.
