Michigan basketball debuts at No. 1 in NCAA's first NET rankings of the 2025 season

After an impressive three-game stretch in Las Vegas during the Players Era Festival that put the entire country on high alert, the analytics suggest the Michigan basketball program is one of the top teams in the country right now, backed up by the NCAA, which released its first NET rankings on Monday.

According to the rankings, the Wolverines debut at the No. 1 spot this week after a week that saw double-digit wins over San Diego State, Auburn and Gonzaga during the tournament.

Notably, the Bulldogs are No. 5 in the rankings.

In 7 games this season, the Wolverines lead the country in Quad 1 wins, sitting at 3-0. The Wolverines also have a Quad 2 win and are 3-0 in Quad 3 wins for good measure.

In second place, Duke has an 8-0 record to start the year and is 2-0 in Quad 1 games, 1-0 in Quad 2 games, and 5-0 in Quad 4 games.

Elsewhere in the Big Ten, Purdue currently ranks No. 3, Michigan State ranks No. 10, Indiana ranks No. 11, Iowa ranks No. 16, and USC ranks No. 20 to round out the Top-20.

The Wolverines return to the court on Saturday, December 6, as Big Ten play starts with a weekend clash against Rutgers at Crisler Arena.
