Players to know
Markus Burton, Guard
Standing at 6-foot-0 and 190 pounds, Notre Dame’s junior guard has started all but one game he appeared in since joining the Irish in 2023-24.
He made 33 starts as a true freshman and led all ACC freshmen with 17.5 points per game. He also averaged 3.3 rebounds and dished out 133 total assists that season.
As a sophomore, he started 25-of-26 games and upped his averages to 21.3 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. But his assist total tumbled to 79, not just due to fewer appearances.
So far in his junior season, Markus Burton has started all eight games and leads Notre Dame’s offense with 20.1 points per contest. He’s reached 20 points six times and dominates the total shot attempts on the team with 112. The next highest total is 69.
He is shooting 50 percent from the field and 32.1 percent from 3, while making 40-of-44 free throws. He leads the Irish with 22 assists and 14 steals, so expect to see him on the ball just about every possession.
Jalen Haralson, Forward
Jalen Haralson joined Notre Dame as the No. 31 overall recruit in the Class of 2025 and the 6-7, 220-pound four star has made an instant impact.
Haralson is the highest-rated prospect to commit to the Isiah in the recruiting-rating-era history of the program.
He has started five games and appeared in seven with an average of 13.1 points and 3.1 rebounds per game. He is 34-of-69 from the field for the second most shots on the team.
Carson Towt, Forward
Standing at 6-8 and 250 pounds, graduate forward Carson Towt after six years at Northern Arizona.
He was second-team All-Big Sky last season and a unanimous Big Sky All-Defensive Team member.
So far this year, he has started all eight games and has been the Irish’s primary rebounder with an average of 10.4 per contest. He also has 15 assists for the second most on the team, while blocking a team-high four shots.
He averages just 5.5 points per game, but when he does shoot, he is efficient. Towt is 18-of-35 (51.4 percent) from the field this year.
