“The recruiting process started up slowly for me,” Sweeney-Strawberry said about the recruiting process. “However, it picked up drastically a month after August 1st. My family and I went to a team camp, and they said they would be in touch with me around December. They asked me to go on a visit and I fell in love with it.”

The Maryland outfielder went into detail on why Rutgers stood out to him amongst the rest of the schools recruiting him.

“Rutgers really stood out to me because they really wanted me to go there, and they saw something in me that they could develop to get me to the next level,” said the Maryland native.

Now that Carter Sweeney-Strawberry is signed with the Scarlet Knights, he’s happy to be done with the recruiting process and excited for his future.

“It really feels great to be a Scarlet Knight,” he said. “I’ve always wanted to play in the Big Ten, and Rutgers is an excellent school, and I’m very blessed to be able to have this opportunity.”
