Edgewater (Florida) three-star quarterback Carter Emanuel has decommitted from UConn Football and reopened his recruitment, according to a post on social media.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pounds gunslinger prospect pledged his commitment to the Huskies since June 2nd following an Official Visit to campus, where he chose UConn over the likes of offers from Appalachian State, Arkansas, Arkansas State, Charlotte, East Carolina, Eastern Kentucky, FIU, Florida A&M, Georgia State, Liberty, Marshall, Pittsburgh, Southern Miss, Troy, UCF, USF, and West Virginia.

“After careful consideration and conversations with my family, I’ve decided to reopen my recruitment,” Emanuel told the UConn Report. “I am grateful to UConn for believing in me and for the relationships built throughout this process.”

Emanuel becomes the second decommit from the Huskies class since the news came out on Wednesday morning that Jim Mora was leaving to become the new head coach at Colorado State. He also just added a new offer from Colorado State just the other day.

He also becomes the sixth prospect to decommit from UConn Football this recruiting cycle joining quarterback Carter Emanuel, running back Jayden Fox (UNLV commit), wide receiver Quayd Hendryx (Minnesota commit), edge rusher Jacquey Ferguson Jr, cornerback Javion Romer, and safety Kallen Martinez.

This news also leaves the 2026 recruiting class with just 11 total verbal commits and the Huskies 2026 class is now ranked No. 112 in the country per the Rivals Industry rankings.
