Jim Mora delivers message to UConn fans after Colorado State move
On November 26th, Jim Mora accepted an offer to be Colorado State Football’s next head coach. Mora made the move just a few days after his fourth season as head coach of the UConn Huskies football program.
With so many open jobs throughout the college football world, Mora’s name was circulating with several Power-Four level jobs. That’s why fans were so surprised when Mora announced he’d be leaving the Huskies to join the Colorado State Rams.
“UConn Nation, I want to thank you for four fabulous years as a UConn Husky,” Mora said via Twitter/X. “You embraced me and my family with warmth and care, and we will never forget the experiences we shared with all of you. We are proud of what was accomplished and we will always cheer on the Huskies. With deep gratitude, Jim Mora.”

During his time at UConn, Mora had the Huskies rolling. Over his four years as head coach, Mora led UConn to three bowl games and became only the second Huskies coach to do so. On top of that, he led UConn to back to back nine win seasons for the first time in program history.
Mora’s rebuild of the program was an impressive one and he now leaves the Huskies in a much better place than when he first arrived. Now it will be up to Athletic Director David Benedict to find another successful coach to try and take the Huskies to the next level.
