UConn Football WR John Neider set to enter Transfer Portal
UConn Football has taken another Transfer Portal hit ahead of the upcoming offseason, as wide receiver John Neider will enter the portal after three seasons with the team per On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
The 6-foot-2, 205-pound wide receiver hails from Milford, Connecticut and played for Jonathan Law High School before signing with UConn as a member of the 2023 recruiting class.

Neider was unranked out of high school and played quarterback for his high school football team, where he passed for 2,289 yards and 30 touchdowns. He also rushed for 1,696 yards and 24 more scores, while winning Connecticut Gatorade High School Player of the Year.
After high school, Neider ended up walking on to the Huskies program, where he would redshirt as a freshman in 2023. After that, he went on to play in 25 games over the next two seasons. Neider was mostly used as a special teams player in 2024, but a year later, he stepped up big time and hauled in 24 receptions for 395 yards and two touchdowns.
Neider will have two years of eligibility remaining to play elsewhere.
