Richie O'Leary, The Knight Reportby: Richard O'Leary08/01/25On3Richie

On Friday afternoon, the defending national champion UConn Women’s Basketball team has officially announced the upcoming 2025-26 non-conference schedule.

While we still don’t know what the Big East Conference schedule will look like, the out of conference matchups set up a tough slate of games that will better prep the Huskies for conference play.

With that being said, let’s take a look at non-conference schedule below.

Non-Conference Schedule Notes

  • South Florida and USC are both return games in a home-and-home series that started last year
  • UConn starts a home-and-home with Ohio State this season and will travel to Columbus next year
    • UConn and Ohio State last met in the Sweet 16 in Seattle in 2023, where the Buckeyes ended the Huskies’ 14-year Final Four streak
  • Neither the Armed Forces Classic or last year’s Women’s Champions Classic affect the four-game deal UConn and Louisville have that began during the 2023-24 season
    • UConn will go to Louisville next year, host them in 2026-27 and visit them again in 2027-28
  • The Invesco QQQ Basketball Hall of Fame Women’s Showcase originally had a tournament format
    • The Basketball Hall of Fame updated the format for the showcase on July 30. Instead of a tournament, each of the four teams will play two games
    • A reason was not provided by the Basketball Hall of Fame as to why the format changed
    • As a result, UConn will have first-ever meetings with both Michigan and Utah at Mohegan Sun Arena
