Utah offensive line coach Jim Harding has struck again with a commitment from arguably the top player in New Mexico, offensive lineman Moses Sparks. The 6-foot-5 and 275 pounder visited Utah on the weekend of June 6th, before taking his other visits and making a decision.

Sparks has offers from Utah, Arizona State, Oregon State, Houston, Nebraska, Boise State and Texas Tech among others. Ultimately it came down to Utah, Texas Tech, Nebraska, Boise State and New Mexico with his official visits.

He announced his commitment on social media:

What Utah is getting

Sparks will eventually arrive at Utah with what should be a college-ready frame, but his impact could be at least two years away once he hits campus. He could very well surprise everyone and be ready faster like Utah’s recent recruits that they’ve had success with from Idaho, but his development over his senior year of high school will be key.

Like the high school prospects in Idaho, New Mexico isn’t as known for churning out high school football prospects, hence why Sparks has flown a bit under the radar, despite a nice offer list.

What this means for the class

Sparks joins defensive tackle Javion Ramon, offensive linemen Rowdy Pearce and Kelvin Obot, twin receivers Kennan and Jaron Pula, wide receiver Perrion Williams, cornerback Dylan Waters, safety Aisa Galea’i, tight end Bear Fisher, safety Carter Stewart, defensive end Preston Pitts, linebacker LaGary Mitchell, cornerback Major Hinchen, and quarterback Michael Johnson.

Offensive line coach Jim Harding has the makings for a very strong 2026 OL class.
