As Softball America grows its coverage at all levels, we continue our recruiting spotlight series with Alexis Kloncia, a catcher from Michigan.
Name: Alexis Kloncia
Primary Position(s): C
Class Year: 2026
Hometown: Lincoln Park, Michigan
Travel Ball Organization: Firecrackers MI-Klonica
What is your favorite travel ball memory?
With two outs in the bottom of the seventh in the championship game, I hit a game-tying double in the PGF Midwest Championship to send it to extra innings.
What’s the most important thing you’ve learned from a coach?
He taught me to always be myself. Stay within myself and to be comfortable who I am.
How did you get interested in softball?
My dad signed me up for coach pitch and I had so much fun, I asked to do it again. After the second season I asked if I could play year round.
What are your strengths as a player? What are you trying to improve on the most?
I have a strong arm and big bat, but I believe my softball IQ and leadership on the field are my best qualities. My biggest weakness is my speed. I have been working with a running coach to get faster.

What player(s) do you look up to the most?
I know it’s baseball, but Bryce Harper is my favorite player, who I looked up to most growing up. In softball, it would be Jocelyn Alo or Reese Atwood.
What are your favorite hobbies outside of softball?
I really like shopping. I also like going with my dad and watching softball games of other kids he coaches.
What excites you the most about playing college softball?
I want to play against the best players out there and challenge myself. I also can’t wait to meet new teammates and form a bond with them.
