The Bruins’ postseason offense is on another level.

After run-ruling every opponent in the Los Angeles Regional, UCLA punched its ticket to a 15th Super Regional with a dominant 12-1 win over UC Santa Barbara.

Outscoring their regional opponents 31-2, the Bruins launched 14 home runs across three games. For the first time in program history, UCLA opened the NCAA Tournament with three straight run-rule wins in a single regional. They wasted no time against UCSB, plating eight runs in the first two innings.

“We want to score early,” head coach Kelly Inouye-Perez said. “We want to continue to score throughout the ball game. And they did that today, they didn’t let up. That’s a big part of what we needed to do right now in the postseason.”

UCLA’s bats refused to slow down. Megan Grant went 2-for-3 with two RBIs from a home run and a single. Jordan Woolery matched her at the plate, also going 2-for-3 and driving in one run. Together, Grant and Woolery broke the program record for most combined RBIs in a single season, racking up 161.

“As a team, we just keep our relentlessness through the whole game,” Grant said. “We always talked about the word ‘indomitable,’ and we just tried to showcase that today.”

UCLA starter Taylor Tinsley struck out six and held the Gauchos to one extra-base hit through four innings. The loss ended UCSB’s postseason run, but not without recognition for an exceptional season.

“I talk about legacy a lot,” UCSB head coach Jo Evans said. “Most of the time it’s not really about the stats. It’s about your character, your passion for the program, and the standards you set daily for your team. Our seniors have left an incredible legacy, and I’m so proud of them.”

With their 15th Super Regional appearance—ninth in the last 10 years—UCLA now prepares to face South Carolina in Columbia. This marks the first time since 2016 that the Bruins will travel for a Super Regional, but the team remains unfazed.

“Wherever we go, we’re going to stick together,” Inouye-Perez said. “Bottom line is, as long as we’re together, I believe that’s our goal—continuing to play together as one.”
