Alabama isn’t always an easy place to get on the field as a freshman, but that doesn’t mean first- or second-year players don’t make an impact. There are always a few who become key contributors. This year is no different, as three Crimson Tide players made the 2022 SEC All-Freshman Team, which was announced on Thursday.

Those three players are offensive lineman Tyler Booker, defensive lineman Jaheim Oatis and cornerback Terrion Arnold. Booker and Oatis are both first-year players who were a part of Alabama’s 2022 recruiting class. Arnold, on the other hand, is a redshirt freshman who was finally able to make an impact in Year 2.

Booker is already an On3 Freshman All-American, which was revealed on Tuesday.

He’s played 376 snaps this season while rotating with Javion Cohen and Emil Ekiyor Jr. at Alabama’s two guard spots. I thought Oatis should’ve also made the team after posting 27 tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, a sack and a pass deflection while starting nine games.

Arnold was eventually replaced by Eli Ricks in the starting lineup, but he still had a good season overall. The 6-foot, 188-pound defensive back posted 45 tackles, one tackle for loss, an interception, eight pass deflections and a fumble recovery while starting seven games and played 549 snaps.

Below, you’ll find the entire SEC All-Freshman Team for 2022.
