The Alabama Crimson Tide remain at No. 3 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings, which were released on Tuesday night ahead of Championship Weekend.

Opinions on where Alabama check in were all over the board following Saturday’s action.

After the Tide needed a four-overtime comeback to beat Auburn (6-6, 3-5 SEC), some felt like they could drop. Others believed Alabama could climb up to No. 2 with the Ohio State Buckeyes suffering their second loss of the season.

Instead, Michigan made a sizable jump from No. 5 to 2, putting the Wolverines squarely in the mix for a Playoff spot with a win over No. 13 Iowa in the Big Ten Championship Game. It’s been quite the season for Jim Harbaugh.

For Alabama, its best win remains Ole Miss, who moved up one spot to No. 8 in the latest rankings. The Crimson Tide also have a win over No. 22 Arkansas. The team’s only loss came in a road trip against No. 25 Texas A&M earlier in the season.

Overall, there are now six SEC teams rated in the top-25 after Kentucky found itself included. Here are how the entire rankings shook out on Tuesday night:

Alabama (11-1, 7-1 SEC) will travel to Atlanta (Ga.) to take on the top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs in the SEC Championship Game. Kickoff time is set for 3 p.m. CT and will air on CBS. As things sit, the Crimson Tide are 6.5-point underdogs, according to VegasInsider.com.

If the Tide can get one more win, a spot in the College Football Playoff is inevitable. Otherwise, the team’s fate could come down to what happens with games such as Oklahoma State-Baylor, Michigan-Iowa and Cincinnati-Houston.
