Jefferson has loved the Tide ever since they offered
Jefferson has been high on Alabama ever since the program extended him an offer in mid-May. He told BamaOn3 that getting the offer from Pete Golding was “crazy” and that he was left “speechless.”
When discussing why this offer meant so much to him, Jefferson highlighted the Crimson Tide’s success with on-field development and their presence in national championship games.
“You go to Bama if you want to win and be great,” Jefferson previously told BamaOn3. “You can do both. Can go to the league, you can improve your game… Bama is just a stepping stone.”
Earlier this month, Jefferson ventured out to Tuscaloosa and impressed Alabama at their June 4 camp. He was accompanied by his mother, Teresa, who Jefferson said was “ecstatic” following their time in Tuscaloosa.
“The whole experience was phenomenal,” Jefferson told us after the trip. “I really like Alabama. Everybody was way cooler than what I thought. They’re No. 1. They’re Alabama for a reason. Just how down to earth everyone was and just real cool and straightforward, I really like that and appreciate that.”
With Jefferson in the fold, the Crimson Tide will turn their attention to Aguirre. They’ve also got other linebacker targets on their radar, such as Malik Bryant (July 23 commitment) and Ole Miss pledge Suntarine Perkins.
