Beginning on Wednesday, high school prospects across the country will sign their letters of intent to play college football at the next level. Alabama currently has 24 commitments in the fold, but will hope to sign some additional priority targets later this week.

** Early Signing Period recruiting chat with Bone and Hastings **

Although the staff lost a commitment from offensive lineman Raymond Pulido on Sunday night, the Tide remain in hot pursuit of five-star Iowa commit Kadyn Proctor. Nick Saban and Company are also hoping to flip Arkansas tight end pledge Luke Hasz.

Five-stars Desmond Ricks, James Smith, and Qua Russaw are all set to commit this week, as well as four-star recruits Damari Brown and Jordan Hall. Hall and Ricks will announce their decisions on Thursday, while the others are going to commit on Wednesday.

Even though most of their 2023 class is filled up, there are still plenty of questions to be answered about Bama’s recruiting efforts ahead of the Early Signing Period. To kick off the week, Andrew Bone and Joseph Hastings answer BamaInsider subscribers’ questions ahead of what could be a big day on Wednesday for the Crimson Tide.

Below are some of the questions asked in today’s recruiting chat, with the answers being provided HERE!

Question: What’s the latest on [James] Smith and [Qua] Russaw?

The top two players in the state of Alabama will announce their commitments together on Wednesday. Alabama and Auburn are both high on their lists. We have the latest on the pair of five-star prospects ahead of their decisions.

Question: Any news to report on after [Desmond] Ricks’ visit to LSU?

Five-star defensive back Desmond Ricks officially visited Alabama from Dec. 9-11. That trip took place between official visits to Florida (Dec. 2-4) and LSU (Dec. 16-18) this month. LSU leads on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, but Bama is continuing to put on the full-court press for him.

Question: Do you think [Suntarine] Perkins waits until February [to sign]?

Ole Miss linebacker pledge Suntarine Perkins recently reaffirmed his commitment with the Rebels. Alabama’s coaching staff, however, is not giving up on their pursuit of the elite linebacker.

Question: Are there any recruits that are not signing early that Bama may get involved with?

Most of Alabama’s targets are signing this week, but the National Signing Day in February still remains an option for some five-star and four-star prospects.
