Alabama basketball will travel out to Las Vegas over Thanksgiving week to participate in the Players Era Festival multi-team event.

The event is is the first-ever NIL based event in college basketball, and provides participating teams with NIL rewards for participating, as well as an additional NIL reward for the winning team. All participating teams are guaranteed three games over the course of the week.

Teams will play two games in group play on Tuesday and Wednesday of the week, with each team’s record in group play determining its seed for the final day of play on Saturday. The 1-seed from each group will play in the championship game, the 2-seeds will play in the 3rd place game, and so on.

Alabama won its two group play games, beating No. 6 Houston on Tuesday night in overtime, and beating Rutgers late Wednesday night. Those wins advanced Alabama to the championship game on Saturday night.

In the other group Oregon advanced to the championship game, beating Texas A&M and San Diego State on Tuesday and Wednesday.

It’ll be the second straight year the Tide and the Ducks have played in an MTE, after Alabama beat Oregon in the third place game of the Emerald Coast Classic, a game which coincidentally was also on the same day as the Iron Bowl.

Alabama is looking for its first MTE title since the 2012-13 season when it wo the 2K Sports Classic.
