AUBURN, ALA. — Saturday brought with it one of the top games in Iron Bowl history. After struggling for more than three quarters, Alabama (11-1, 7-1 SEC) managed to make a late push to send the Iron Bowl to overtime.
Surprisingly, it took a quadruple overtime for either team to separate it from the other.
The Crimson Tide ultimately walked away with a 24-22 victory. If you look at the 20-point line, it wasn’t an overly impressive win, but for anyone who watched it, Alabama showed a lot of fight and grit en route to an 11-win regular season.
This was a story of the defense keeping the team in striking distance long enough for the offense to make that late push. Whether it was Will Anderson, Dallas Turner, Byron Young, DeMarcco Hellams or a slew of other contributors, this was a night to remember.
