Former Alabama wide receiver and current Denver Broncos star Jerry Jeudy has reportedly been arrested in Colorado. That news was first broken by Zach Bye, a radio host on 104.3 The Fan in Denver, via Twitter on Thursday afternoon. Since then, Jeudy’s arrest has been reported — and confirmed — by numerous outlets, including the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office.

After initially not providing any details on what charges would be brought against Jeudy, the official Twitter account for the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office provided an update around 3:30 p.m. CT. Jeudy is being charged with second-degree criminal tampering with a domestic violence enhancer, which is a misdemeanor.

According to a recent tweet from Ryan O’Halloran, the Broncos beat writer for The Denver Post, Jeudy was taken into custody between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. CT on Thursday. Details for Jeudy’s arrest took a while to come out because he hadn’t been officially booked at the time that this story first broke. United Press International reporter Al Butler is also reporting that Jeudy did not turn himself in.

The Broncos selected Jeudy No. 15 overall in the 2020 NFL Draft.

As a rookie that season, Jeudy played in all 16 games for Denver, hauling in 52 catches on 113 targets for 856 yards and 3 touchdowns. Unfortunately, a serious ankle injury limited him to only 10 games with five starts in 2021. Jeudy did manage to bring in 38 receptions for 467 yards in those games.

Many have anticipated a breakout season for Jeudy in 2022, mostly due to the quarterback upgrade that was made this offseason. After two seasons of playing alongside signal-caller Drew Lock, Jeudy now has Super Bowl champion and nine-time Pro-Bowler Russell Wilson throwing him passes.

At Alabama, Jeudy was a consensus All-American in 2018 and first-team All-SEC twice. The 6-foot-1, 193-pound pass-catcher finished his career in Tuscaloosa with 159 receptions, 2,742 yards and 26 scores in 42 games.

Coming out of high school in 2017, Jerry Jeudy was part of arguably the greatest recruiting class of all time. He was rated as a five star-prospect at Deerfield Beach High School, and was also the No. 22 recruit in the nation and No. 3 wide receiver, according to the On3 Consensus.

Update (5:44 p.m. CT): Details of what occurred between Jeudy and the mother of his child are now being reported by Kyle Clark, a journalist on 9NEWS in Denver.
