Auburn-Penn State game day recruiting blog
This is a big one. On the field and in the stands.
Auburn plays host to No. 22 Penn State on Saturday in a game both programs have had circled on their calendars for awhile. And because this is such a highly anticipated matchup, elite recruits from all over have flocked to Jordan-Hare Stadium.
Auburn Live is on hand to document things.
Below, we’ll let you know which targets we’ve spotted inside the stadium. Underneath that, you’ll find an expected visitors list.
Remember, just because we don’t see someone at the game that doesn’t mean he didn’t make it. Sometimes, certain recruits can be difficult to locate.
The game begins at 2:30 p.m. CT. Most recruits will arrive about two hours before kickoff.
RECRUITS WE CAN CONFIRM ARE IN ATTENDANCE
–We can confirm 4-star edge Wilky Denaud made it to Auburn for his official visit. He had a game Friday night in South Florida.
-4-star offensive guard D.J. Chester of Eagle’s Landing Christian (Ga.) has arrived at Jordan-Hare Stadium. This is a big visit. LSU is the favorite, but Auburn is pushing hard.2
-We’ve spotted 3-star Auburn OL commit Bradyn Joiner. Can’t recall the last time he wasn’t at an Auburn home game.
-4-star 2024 running back J’Marion Burnette of Andalusia (Ala.) is here. One of Auburn’s biggest targets in that class.
-3-star OL Gernorris Wilson of Lakeland (Fla.) says he arrived in Auburn at about 5:30 a.m. Saturday for his official visit. He had a game last night down in central Florida and came straight to Auburn afterward.
-We can confirm 4-star DT Darron Reed, the LSU commit from Columbus (Ga.) Carver, has made it to Jordan-Hare today. Second time this season. Auburn is working this one hard.
-4-star OT Michigan State OT commit Stanton Ramil of Thompson (Ala.) is here. He was not on the visitors list so this is a nice surprise.
-We can confirm 4-star OT Bo Hughley, a Georgia commit from Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes, is at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
-We also can confirm 4-star OL Kelton Smith, a Georgia commit from Columbus (Ga.) Carver, is here.
-We’ve spotted 3-star OL Vysen Lang of Pike Road (Ala.).
-Ohio State 4-star TE commit Jelani Thurman and Auburn 4-star commit Terrance Love, both of Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes, are at the stadium. Second week in a row for Thurman.
–Jared Smith, the No. 5 recruit in the country for 2025, is here. He’s an edge from Spain Park (Ala.).
-JUCO DL Derick Hunter, a Florida native now at Hinds Community College (Miss.), is here. Texas A&M transfer.
-4-star 2024 OL Waltclaire Flynn of Grayson (Ga.) is here. No. 23 recruit in Georgia.
-4-star CB Kayin Lee, an Ohio State commit from Ellenwood (Ga.) Cedar Grove, has arrived.
-We’ve spotted 4-star WR Daquayvious Sorey of Chipley (Fla.). The Auburn commit is here for his official visit. He just met Auburn coach Bryan Harsin out on the field.
-Georgia OL commit Bo Hughley also just got some time with Harsin on the field. Same with Jelani Thurman and Kayin Lee.
-Arkansas State 3-star CB commit Tyler Scott of Mableton (Ga.) Pebblebrook is here. His stock is soaring and Auburn has emerged as the favorite.
-We can confirm Penn State 4-star safety commit DaKaari Nelson of Selma (Ala.) is here.
-4-star Auburn RB commit Jeremiah Cobb of Montgomery Catholic (Ala.) is back on campus.
-We’ve spotted 3-star DB Colton Hood, a Michigan State from Georgia. His dad played at Auburn. Uncle, also.
-4-star edge Kavion Henderson of Leeds (Ala.) is here.
-3-star Auburn DB commit Jacorious Hart of Loachapoka (Ala.) is back at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
-We can confirm 3-star edge Willis McGahee IV of Miami (Fla.) Palmetto made it to Auburn today. Son of the Miami Hurricanes legend.
-5-star edge Qua Russaw and 5-star DL James Smith, Montgomery (Ala.) Carver have arrived and are now heading to the field to meet with Harsin. Auburn’s two biggest overall targets.
-Stanton Ramil, the 4-star Michigan State OT commit, also got time with Harsin at mid-field.
-5-stars Qua Russaw (edge) and James Smith (DL) just had photos taken with Auburn legend Bo Jackson.
