It was another huge recruiting weekend for Auburn as seven targets, including five 4-stars, officially visited Bryan Harsin’s program Friday-Sunday. Here’s a brief recap of each for the busy Tiger fan …

ON3 CONSENSUS RANKING: No. 158 overall and No. 20 defensive lineman in the country.

ONE NOTE: While Harris, a Georgia commit, remains firm to the Bulldogs, he said he plans to return to Auburn for a game this upcoming season.

ONE QUOTE: “It was a great visit. I enjoyed everybody and the coaching staff. It was a great visit. I really communicated with Coach Roc (Bellantoni) and Coach (Bryan) Harsin. I had a good conversation with him and how I would fit if I were to go to the school.”

Is Auburn primed to land a standout from Texas?

***Anthony James, DL, Wylie (Texas) East

ON3 CONSENSUS RANKING: No. 162 overall in the country.

ONE NOTE: He said after the visit ended Auburn and Washington are his top two — and his final two with a commitment decision likely coming in early July. He officially visits Washington this week.

ONE QUOTE: “(The Tigers are) definitely at the top. I’ve got one more visit and after that I’m going to make a choice. One more visit (to Washington next weekend); we’re going to see how that goes.”

***Jeremiah Cobb, RB, Montgomery Catholic (Ala.)

ON3 CONSENSUS RANKING: No. 7 running back in the country.

ONE NOTE: This is thought to be an Auburn-Clemson battle with most seeing Auburn as the favorite. A decision could come soon.

ONE QUOTE: “The visit was great. I had a real fun weekend with the staff and all the coaches. Just hanging out at dinner with Coach Cadillac (Williams), Coach T-Reed (Trovon Reed) and Coach (Bryan) Harsin and getting to know them not just as coaches, but as men. It was real cool. Me and Coach Cadillac have a real good relationship, especially after this weekend.”

The Tigers are rising one of Tampa’s best prospects

***Lewis Carter, LB, Tampa Catholic (Fla.)

ON3 CONSENSUS RANKING: No. 11 linebacker in the country.

ONE NOTE: Auburn, North Carolina and Oklahoma are thought to be the top programs in this recruitment with UCF also in the mix.

ONE QUOTE: “I talked to Coach C-Rob a lot and Coach (Bryan) Harsin, and and they both seem like great people. Coach C-Rob recruited me at Florida. We FaceTime almost every week and just talk about life. He is a great dude, a great figure. He seems like he wants to develop me as a man and as a player, just be great overall in life.”

Auburn impressed a Tar Heel State standout
