Notable: Tavian Branch visited Auburn for the first time late in the process. He took his official visit for the Iron Bowl weekend. On his way out, Alex Golesh pulled into the Auburn football facility for the first time (with a heavy police escort). Branch talked his parents into sticking around long enough to meet Golesh before heading back home. Branch pointed to the school being a big factor over specific coaching relationships.

Quotes: “They hired a great head coach. He’s just saying that he’s going to change the program around. He has a plan. He has a plan for all of us.”

“Coach Golesh is a focused man. He is focused on Auburn and making it a great program again. He has a plan and we talked about it. I like what he is about and he is a coach who can do well at Auburn.”

Pink’s Analysis

That motor is always buzzing! Love the tape from Tavian Branch and consider this a major addition to Auburn’s defensive line. He brings a lot of juice from a pass rush standpoint with good twitch and active hands. His pursuit stands out on tape. Branch never gives up on a play, no matter what.

Branch went up a notch after seeing him in person. He’s well-built, lean, and has a nice frame to build on. Branch is not overly lengthy and more compact, but owns plenty of twitch that can translate well as he continues to add weight. He has a nice get-off and a non-stop motor. He seems like a good fit for the new staff as well as for what Durkin likes to use in pass-rush situations.
