COMMITMENT: Tight end Kentrell White commits to Auburn over Virginia Tech

Athletic tight end Kentrell White has committed to Auburn.
White, who attends Midtown High School in Atlanta, Ga., announced his decision Friday on social media. He chose the Tigers over his other finalists, Virginia Tech.
“It’s Auburn for me,” White said. “I love Auburn. It’s always been a dream of mine to play in the SEC. Since I was a little kid I’ve wanted to play in the SEC and I feel like I could make a big difference in the football program there.”
White, who is listed at 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds, feels like the offense is a great fit for his skills.
“I love how they’re going to use me in their offense,” he said. “They want to use me like a hybrid. I can match up with a linebacker and win that easy. I can move outside if needed, too.”

Relationships also played a big factor in his decision. White has close bonds with Kenyatta Watson, who is director of recruiting strategy and research, as well as tight ends coach Ben Aigamaua.
“I have great relationships with Coach Kenyatta and Coach Ben,” White said. “Coach Kenyatta has been there for me for four years. He was at Georgia Tech and offered me there and then at Auburn. He’s a real stand-up guy. I love that man. He’s done things for me that no coach has ever done. He’s never given up, never left me out, and included me in everything that he has done.”
White is Auburn’s seventh commitment in the 2026 class and first tight end.
As a junior, he finished with with nearly 1,000 all-purpose yards and scored 10 touchdowns.
“I feel great about my commitment,” he said. “I am locked in with Auburn.”
