Thursday night, Auburn’s freshman phenom, Jabari Smith, was taken in the first round of the NBA Draft. Up until the day of, Smith was seen as the probable number 1 draft pick by the Orlando Magic. That, of course, didn’t happen.

Smith, being the competitor that he is, had this to say about the last minute snub: “Definitely added a chip, but God makes no mistakes, so I’m happy to be here. I’m happy to be where I’m wanted. I’m happy to get to Houston and just show them, give them what they picked. Just happy to be here.”
