CLEMSON —Clemson is about to play in the ACC Tournament and that means March Madness has arrived despite many of us being focused on spring ball. The Tigers are fresh off a 16-6 campaign where they went 10-6 in conference play. They are all set to make the NCAA Tournament for the second time since 2018. Before the big dance, the Tigers must travel to Greensboro for the ACC Tournament.

The ACC Tournament opens today with three play-in games in the first round and then Clemson will take the floor on Thursday afternoon to play their way into the quarterfinals. It is set to be a jam-packed weekend of basketball at Greensboro Coliseum and the Tigers will look to do damage in a tournament where they haven’t had a lot of success.

We all love March Madness for many reasons, but there is no hiding from the fact that one of the biggest weekends in Las Vegas yearly is the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament. Bracket season is upon us, but first, we must get through championship weekend. Let’s take a look at how the ACC Tournament shakes out from the views of the handicappers.

For the fifth time since 2014, UVa is the regular-season champion and they’ll get the one-seed and are rightfully favored at the top. They are closely followed by No. 2 Florida State a year after not being able to play in the ACC Tournament despite winning the regular-season title for the first time since joining the league. However, that is where the chalk stops.

North Carolina is coming out of the dreaded 6-hole with a few late-night games on the schedule, but the Tar Heels are the third favorite per the sharps. Ahead of 4-seed Georgia Tech and 5-seed Clemson is 7-seed Louisville. In what was a crazy year has truly given us a crazy bracket for this year’s championship week.

It should be a thrilling weekend of hoops down at the ACC Tournament and we’ll be here to keep you up to speed as Clemson looks to bolster their tournament resume with a few wins before Selection Sunday. The odds say it could be tough for the Tigers to go on a run, but they should be able to pick up a win and maybe get two.
