CLEMSON — After watching multiple players leave the program this offseason, Clemson landed a much-needed commitment on Monday night.

Forward Ben Middlebrooks from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., announced his commitment to the Tigers in an Instagram post. A three-star prospect from Westminister Academy, he is currently a member of the class of 2022 but will reportedly reclassify to 2021. This will add some depth to the Tigers roster, which lost three players to the transfer portal.

Middlebrooks had offers from a handful of schools including Auburn, Florida and LSU. Listed at 6-foot-10 and 190 pounds, 247Sports ranks Middlebrooks as a top-30 forward in his class. He averaged 20.5 points and 13.6 rebounds per game last season and was named to the Broward 5A-1A first team.

His sister, Mackenzy, plays for the Clemson women’s tennis program.

The commitment helps Brownell restock his program’s roster and talent.
