With it being Thanksgiving, it is only fitting that Clemson’s football program and its fan base should have one more reason to be thankful on this holiday.

Just moments ago, Wade Woodaz announced that he has committed to Clemson. Woodaz is labeled as a three-star prospect and the No. 37 linebacker on On3’s 2022 rankings.

Interestingly enough, it did not take Woodaz long at all to know that Clemson was going to be the final choice for him. Woodaz took a trip to the school on Nov. 13 for the Tigers matchup with UConn, which later resulted in an offer from the Tigers.

Even with Brent Venables and company dipping into his recruitment, it was not a guarantee that he would commit to the program. Woodaz’s recruitment had been taking off in recent weeks, with colleges like Iowa, Louisville, Miami, West Virginia, and others giving him the green light.

It was ultimately Clemson, however, that ended up coming out on top for Woodaz.

Woodaz, a product of Jesuit High School in Tampa (Florida), joins a class that now has 14 total commits. He’s also one of two linebacker pledges, with the other being Kansas-based prospect Jaren Kanak.

As for who is the next to join 2022 class, that remains to be seen.

At wide receiver, the Tigers are laser-focused on landing Antonio Williams after missing out on Andre Greene Jr. They’re also in pursuit of running back Trevor Etienne, who is the younger brother of former Clemson football star Travis Etienne.

Other players, such as Earnest Greene, Nyjalik Kelly, and Shemar Stewart are on their radar, but are viewed as unlikely.

While the class’ finish is still unknown, Clemson got a good start in the final leg of this recruiting cycle by adding Woodaz to the fold today.
