CLEMSON — Clemson has added another four-star recruit to the class of 2022. This one is very important.

Four-star safety Keon Sabb went on CBS Sports HQ on Saturday to announce that he has committed to Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers, becoming the fourth defensive prospect in the class.

Sabb chose Clemson over Georgia, LSU, Oregon, Penn State and Texas A&M. The blue-chip prospect also took an official visit to Michigan last month and has an offer from Alabama. The prospect took an unofficial visit to Clemson in June while taking officials to Georgia, Penn State and Texas A&M. The New Jersey native currently plays for IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida and was selected to play in the All-American Bowl.

The Tigers now have nine verbal commitments in the class of 2022, with eight players being of the blue-chip variety, giving Clemson a very impressive 88.89 percent blue-chip ratio. Clemson is well on its way to another top-five recruiting class as the Tigers now have a pair of top-100 recruits in the fold — Sabb and quarterback Cade Klubnik. The latter could become a five-star sooner rather than later.

What addition of Keon Sabb means for Clemson

Clemson prides itself on being able to develop prospects that might fly under-the-radar, but the Tigers also get plenty of highly-rated recruits as well. Keon Sabb is a top-60 player in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings and one of the best players in Florida.

He will be able to help Clemson in a variety of ways and could provide depth for the Tigers immediately in the secondary as they are set to lose safety Nolan Turner after this season.

Clemson continues to recruit at an elite level, having beat out some of the best programs in college football for Sabb. Brent Venables just signed a new contract this past week and now he will get to coach another elite prospect in Keon Sabb.
