Clemson baseball set to College of Charleston

Clemson is coming off of a series sweep of Indiana this weekend, outscoring the Hoosiers 33-8. The Tigers will stay at home on Tuesday, taking on in-state foe the College of Charleston.

The Tigers are averaging 11 runs per game and hitting .284 with a .402 slugging percentage and .490 on-base percentage. Right-hander Billy Barlow is set to pickup the start for Clemson. The first-year freshman was ranked as the No. 122 freshman in the nation this preseason by Perfect Game.

College of Charleston is coming off a weekend sweep, too, with three-consecutive wins over Wagner. Right-hander Trey Pooser will be on the bump for the Cougars.

Tigers head coach Monte Lee served as head coach at College of Charleston after playing four years. The two teams will meet again May 10 at Segra Park in Columbia.

Tuesday’s game can be watched on ACCNX with William Qualkinbush and Ron Smith on the call. The game can also be listed to on the Clemson Athletic Network or ClemsonTigers.com.

First pitch is set for 4 p.m. ET at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.

Kirk Johnson details what Clemson is getting in 4-star LB T.J. Dudley

From the end of Early Signing Period to the traditional National Signing Day on Feb. 2, Clemson put a game plan into place that paid dividends for the program.

With four decommitments and double-digit players in the transfer portal, the Tigers identified areas of need and hit the ground running in December. A hole they needed to address was the departure of Jaren Kanak, with that void eventually being filled by two players: Kobe McCloud and T.J. Dudley.

Dudley was a prospect that Clemson long had on their radar, offering him in June 2020. After a break in contact with Dudley, the Tigers picked things up and landed a signature from him less than three weeks ago.

Clemson Sports spoke with his high school head coach in-depth about the type of player and person that Clemson is getting in Dudley.

‘It’s truly a blessing’ for Nick Eason to be back at Clemson

Nick Eason wasn’t looking to leave Auburn after only one season.

The former Clemson star enjoyed his time coaching Auburn’s defensive line on the Plains in 2021 and believed he might have found a long-term fit.

But when Clemson coach Dabo Swinney called following the departure of Todd Bates for Oklahoma, Eason knew it was an opportunity he would have to heavily consider. He spoke about the opportunity on National Signing Day.

Elite DL Kelby Collins talks Clemson, when he is likely to make his return

The Clemson Tigers are continuing to show they’re unopposed to dipping into enemy territory on the recruiting trail, even if it means going up against the defending national champions and the runner-up for elite players.

In the 2023 cycle, 14 total prospects from Alabama and Georgia are in possession of offers from Clemson. Of these players, all but four of them are labeled as top-100 juniors in the On3 Consensus

One of the recruits they’re actively in pursuit of is Kelby Collins. Collins, who included the Tigers in his top eight in October, spoke with Clemson Sports about why the program remains in contention for his services.
