Andrew Booth sidelined from NFL Combine with quad injury

Another former Clemson star will not be participating in workouts at the NFL Combine. Andrew Booth will not be taking part in on-field workouts, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported. The first-team All-ACC selection strained is quad musclea few days ago while training for the 40-yard dash.

Booth finished this past season with credited with 39 tackles, five pass breakups, a team-high three interceptions and is expected to be one of the top defensive backs taken off the board in April. He was not listed in Mel Kiper Jr.’s latest mock draft released this week, but was listed as the No. 4 overall cornerback in the draft.

During his time at Clemson, he proved time and time again he can be an elite lockdown cornerback. There was the one-handed interception against Virginia, followed a week later by a spectacular pass break up against Miami.

The former five-star prospect was the No. 2 cornerback in the 2019 recruiting class and No. 28 overall recruit in the nation. During his time in college, he ranked No. 65 in On3’s NIL 100.

What Dabo Swinney wants to see from Clemson QB DJ Uiagalelei this spring

DJ Uiagalelei knows as well as anyone that this is an important offseason for him as he looks to secure his hold on the Clemson starting quarterback job.

Need proof that Uiagalelei has a sense of urgency?

Since the season ended in late December, Uiagalelei has dropped 15-plus pounds. He’s not a small quarterback by any stretch, and as Swinney said on Wednesday, he’ll always be a bigger QB. But the rising junior is at a good weight as spring practice kicks off.

Clemson Sports broke down what the expectations are for DJ Uiagalelei this spring.
