Former Clemson offensive tackle selected in USFL Draft

Former Clemson offensive tackle Isaiah Battle was drafted in the sixth round of Tuesday night’s USFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Maulers. The former three-star recruit in the class of 2011 spent three seasons at Clemson before leaving for the 2015 NFL Supplemental Draft.

He was taken by in the fifth round of the supplemental draft by the Los Angeles Rams. Battle then spent time with Kansas City Chiefs, Seattle Seahawks and Carolina Panthers. Battle left the NFL in 2019 and was taken in the first round of the XFL Draft by the Seattle Dragons.

The USFL is set to kickoff on April 16. Games can be seen on NBC, FOX, FS1, USA Network and Peacock.

Clemson DT Bryan Bresee back running after tearing ACL in fall

Nearly five months after suffering a torn ACL in a loss at NC State, Bryan Bresee appears to be making solid progress during his rehab.

Bresee posted a video on social media of him jogging at the Clemson indoor practice facility on Tuesday.

Bresee is still wearing a brace on his left knee but appears to be moving well. At one point he even accelerates and nears a full sprint.

This is obviously good news for Clemson as the redshirt sophomore is one of the best defensive tackles in the country when healthy.

2023 DB out of Oklahoma is planning a spring visit to Clemson

Under Dabo Swinney, Clemson’s football program has not heavily prioritized recruiting in Oklahoma. The staff has extended offers to a few players over the years, but it’s not been a state of emphasis for them on the trail.

No Oklahoma-based prospects currently hold an offer from the Tigers, there is one on their radar: Micah Tease. Per the On3 Consensus —  a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average — Tease is the No. 147 overall junior in the country and the No. 17 cornerback in his class.

A trio of Clemson staff members are consistently in touch with Tease. Those coaches are cornerbacks coach Mike Reed and safeties coach Mickey Conn, as well as defensive coordinator Wesley Goodwin.

Caden Grice leads Clemson past Charleston as Tigers remain unbeaten

Caden Grice’s two-run homer in the bottom of the third inning proved to be the difference Tuesday night against Charleston as the Tigers held on for a 2-1 victory at Doug Kingsmore Stadium to remain unbeaten on the year.

Grice hit a 2-2 pitch over the left field wall for an opposite field home run, which ended up being all the scoring the Tigers need.

Clemson improved to 4-0 with the win, while Charleston fell to 3-1 with the loss. The Tigers will return to action Friday, hosting Hartford at 4 p.m.
