Four Tigers listed in top-25 most marketable college football players

Clemson has blossomed into an elite football program in the Dabo Swinney era. And with it, the Tigers have accumulated elite talent while being in the national spotlight.

So when Opendorse, an NIL deal facilitator, released a list of the 25-most marketable college football players for endorsement deals, it was no surprise to see a number of Clemson players listed.

Tight end Braden Galloway cracked the top five at No. 4 with his 161,964 followers. across social media. Quarterback D.J. Uiagalalei was listed seventh. With 198,756 followers and a growing national profile, his rising status is a no brainer. He recently appeared on a Dr. Pepper commercial.

Defensive tackle Bryan Bresee clocked in at No. 15 with 155,398 followers. The ACC Freshman of the Year is only supposed to keep growing his name this season. And wide receiver Justyn Ross was listed at No. 17. Despite sitting out for a year, there is still wide name recognition for the wideout.

Former Clemson tailback signs with Falcons

Wayne Gallman has signed with the Atlanta Falcons.

The former Clemson running backs was among the final cuts in San Francisco 49ers camp but the Falcons have picked him up. Drafted by the Giants in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, he rushed for 153 yards on 34 carries in three preseason games this summer for the 49ers.

In four NFL season, he has 338 carriers for 1,444 yards and nine touchdowns across 53 games. He also has 80 catches for 498 yards and two scores.

Gallman played at Clemson from 2013 to 2016 and helped win a national championship. In 42 career games with the Tigers, the tailback had 676 career rushes for 3,429 yards and 34 touchdowns.

Clemson wide receiver ruled out for season opener against Georgia

Clemson Tigers receiver Brannon Spector has been ruled out of Saturday’s season opener against No. 5 Georgia, he posted via Twitter. The redshirt sophomore tested positive for COVID-19 in the spring and is still dealing with some aftereffects. 

“After getting COVID in the spring, I’ve been facing some respiratory challenges that have kept me from being where I want to be athletically,” he wrote. “Though I hate that I can’t be out there with my teammates this Saturday, I’m working with the trainers and doctors to do everything I can to return this season. I continue to make daily improvement with my conditioning and will continue to work my hardest to return as soon as possible.”
