Clemson unveils plans for women’s sports facility

The Clemson Board of Trustees is set to review plans to build a women’s sports specific facility.

The plans, unveiled Friday, call for a $27.5 million expansion plan for new and upgraded lakefront facilities for lacrosse, gymnastics and rowing. This comes after this spring, when the school announced plans for women’s lacrosse and women’s gymnastics.

If the plan is approved by the Board of Trustees early next week, construction would begin later this year with completion for 2023.

The new facility would include a new lacrosse stadium and a 9,000 square foot operations complex, including coaches offices, locker rooms and a players lounge.

A crucial addition to the athletic department’s nutrition efforts would be included in a new 10,000 square foot training and recovery facility. Space would be designated for sports science, nutrition, sports medicine and strength and conditioning.

2022 EDGE Jahiem Lawson stays home, commits to Clemson Tigers

Clemson is back in business when it comes to recruiting in the trenches.

On Friday, the coaching staff landed a commitment from pass rusher target Jahiem Lawson. Lawson, the No. 91 EDGE prospect in the country, has now become the only defensive lineman pledge in Clemson’s current 2022 class.

This announcement comes nearly two weeks after Lawson wrapped up a three-day official visit with the Tigers.

2023 DL Darron Reed talks Clemson offer, where they fit in his recruitment

The Clemson Tigers have dished out offers to over a dozen prospects in the 2022 and 2023 cycles this month.

One of the recipients of an offer from Dabo Swinney’s staff in January is Darron Reed. Reed is labeled as the No. 17 defensive lineman in the 2023 class by On3.

Reed spoke with Clemson Sports about his reaction to the Jan. 6 offer, relationship with Lemanski Hall, and his interest in the program.
