CLEMSON — The MLB Draft is still going on but don’t expect Will Taylor’s name to be called.

All signs point to Taylor staying at school rather than beginning his professional baseball career, a source told ClemsonSports.com.

Taylor was projected as a first-round pick heading into the draft, with some mock drafts projecting him to come off the board in the top 10.

However, he wasn’t picked in Sunday’s first round and will instead play football and baseball at Clemson.

Taylor is an outfielder in baseball and will play a couple of positions for Dabo Swinney’s team. He is expected to begin his career at quarterback this fall before transitioning to wide receiver later in his career.

He will provide depth for the Tigers at quarterback this season as Clemson currently only has one other healthy scholarship quarterback — starter D.J. Uiagalelei.

Fellow Clemson quarterback/baseball player Bubba Chandler was drafted in the third round by the Pirates on Monday and is expected to sign with Pittsburgh.
