Florida commits hit the gridiron for another week under the lights

As the 2022 high school football season approaches the midway point, the 2023 Florida Gators class continues to show out under the Friday night lights. This weekend is no different, as multiple Florida commits face off against each other on the field.

Injuries

As for four-star wide receiver commit Aidan Mizell, he continued recovery this week on a knee injury he suffered at the beginning of the season.

Four-star wide receiver Eugene Wilson III remains out and could miss the remainder of the season.

Four-star defensive back commit Aaron Gates is out with an injury as well.

Florida coach hit the road to see receiver commit and top 2024 target

On Thursday night, Gators wide receivers coach Keary Colbert was on the sidelines of Miami Northwestern-Columbus, Corey Bender of Gators Online reported.

Not only did Colbert get to see Florida four-star pledge Andy Jean up close and personal, but 2024 linebacker target TJ Capers plays for Columbus as well.

Two more matchups between Florida commits go down on Friday

Osceola (1-2) travels to 4-0 Rockledge this week, as four-star cornerback Ja’Keem Jackson and his Kowboys face off against three-star offensive lineman Bryce Lovett and his undefeated Raiders.

In Jacksonville, 4-0 Trinity Christian Academy and running back commit Treyaun Webb welcomes the 3-2 Columbia Tigers and Gators linebacker commit Jaden Robinson.

Other matchups for the commit list

Gardendale (3-1) and top-75 defensive lineman Kelby Collins are on the road against 3-2 Austin

After landing their first win last week, 1-4 Upson-Lee and four-star EDGE T.J Searcy host 0-4 Mt. Zion.

Four-star defensive lineman Kam James and his Olympia team are on bye this week.

Four-star EDGE Isaiah Nixon and his Lakewood Spartans take on Atlantic in a matchup between 2-2 teams.

Winless Nease and Marcus Stokes take on 1-3 Orange Park, home to Gators flip target Roderick Kearney.

Undefeated Bartram Trail and four-star defensive back Sharif Denson host 2-2 St. Augustine on Friday.

West Orange High School, home to four-star safety Jordan Castell, hosts Jones High School on Friday, where Miami commit Malik Bryant plays.

Undefeated Buchholz, home to Gavin Hill and Creed Whittemore, travels to Ocala to face 3-1 Vanguard.

Three-star offensive lineman Knijeah Harris and IMG Academy face off against Central High School, one of the powerhouse programs in Alabama.

Three-star wide receiver Tyree Patterson and his Eustis High School team are on bye this weekend.
