Will the Florida Gators sign any 5-stars in the 2024 class? And if so, how many?

Today, Gators Online takes a quick look at how Billy Napier & Co. sit with notable 5-star targets. (Note: We used the On3 Industry rankings.)

Here we go …

*DJ Lagway, QB, Willis (Texas) — FLORIDA GATORS COMMIT

-On3 Industry Ranking: No. 23 overall, No. 3 QB

-Official visit with Gators: June 2

-411: Lagway committed to Florida last Dec. 7 and appears to be locked in with the Gators. He’s even recruiting for them. That said, schools such as Southern California and Texas A&M aren’t likely to stop pursuing him.

*Jeremiah Smith, WR, Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep — OHIO STATE BUCKEYES COMMIT

-On3 Industry Ranking: No. 2 overall, No. 1 WR

-Official visit with Gators: June 2

-411: Smith says he won’t be easily flipped, but Florida, Georgia and Penn State have secured official visits. And earlier this week, Smith told Gators Online the Gators “have a legit chance.” He might not shut things down until signing day so this could drag out awhile.

*Colin Simmons, Edge, Duncanville (Texas)

-On3 Industry Ranking: No. 3 overall, No. 1 edge

-Official visit with Gators: TBD but he said this week Florida would get one.

-411: The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine favors LSU in the recruitment of Simmons with Texas next. However, the Gators continue to impress him: “I like Florida,” Simmons told On3’s Gerry Hamilton on Monday. “I feel like it fits me — I feel like the system, the way they play their edges — and my position coach (Mike Peterson) — he went on to the league. And the connections he has, the connections of the Gators family and just the love I received from all the fans — I love Florida.”

*David Stone, DL, Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy

-On3 Industry Ranking: No. 10 overall, No. 2 DL

-Official visit with Gators: Stone has not released a date, but he’s expected to visit Florida on June 2.

-411: The Sooners are favored to land the Oklahoma native but Stone has visited the Gators multiple times. “There’s just something about the Gators,” he said. “I don’t know what it is. Ever since my first visit, I fell in love with the place.” Florida and Miami are two of the schools recruiting him hardest.

*Joshisa Trader, WR, Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep

-On3 Industry Ranking: No. 22 overall, No. 6 WR

-Official visit with Gators: Trader plans to officially visit Florida but has not scheduled any officials yet.

-411: Miami is the On3 RPM favorite but Trader said this week Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Miami and Ohio State all will get officials. “They’re always gonna have a good receiver corp coming in,” Trader said of the Gators. “They’ve got a good quarterback. A good passing offense. I’ve been to a couple games and they showed out and showed me what Florida could do.”

*Elijah Rushing, Edge, Tucson (Ariz.) Salpointe Catholic

-On3 Industry Ranking: No. 24 overall, No. 3 edge

-Official visit with Gators: No visit scheduled.

-411: Although Rushing’s father played at Florida, Corey Bender of Gators Online reported recently the Gators seemed to be slipping some in his recruitment.

*Cam Coleman, WR, Phenix City (Ala.) Central

-On3 Industry Ranking: No. 25 overall, No. 7 WR

-Official visit with Gators: TBD.

-411: Coleman will make his second trip to Florida next week but said Thursday night he isn’t yet sure if the Gators will get an official visit. Right now, Auburn is the On3 RPM favorite. He lives only about 30 minutes from that campus, but the last two big-time receivers from his school left the area for college.

*Mylan Graham, WR, New Haven (Ind.) — OHIO STATE BUCKEYES COMMIT

-On3 Industry Ranking: No. 12 overall, No. 4 WR

-Official visit with Gators: TBD.

-411: Graham visited Florida earlier this week, but flipping him feels like a long shot.
