Jon Sumrall has made another move on Florida’s offensive staff, opting not to retain co-offensive line coach Rob Sale as the Gators move into a new era.

Sale spent the last four seasons in Gainesville and served as a steady presence on Billy Napier’s staff, working alongside Jonathan Decoster to rebuild the offensive line room. He played a central role in developing young linemen, stabilizing the run game and helping guide several multi-year starters.

However, with the program turning the page under Sumrall, Florida is shifting its approach in the trenches.

Sale’s departure marks another step in Sumrall’s overhaul of the Gators’ coaching staff, which has already seen several changes. Those departures include wide receivers coach Billy Gonzales and running backs coach Jabbar Juluke. It signals a fresh direction for a unit that has talent returning but needs to take a significant step forward in 2025.

Sale, who has experience at both the college and NFL levels, is expected to draw interest from multiple programs.

Florida’s offensive line transition will be one of the key early storylines of the Sumrall era as the Gators head into the spring.
