GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida Gators running back Lorenzo Lingard plans to enter the transfer portal, sources confirm to Gators Online. Lingard has graduated, allowing him to enter the portal before Dec. 5.

The redshirt junior running back said his goodbyes to Florida through Twitter this morning.

Lingard, who committed to the Gators in January 2020, played three seasons at Florida after transferring from Miami. A five-star recruit in the 2018 class, Lingard struggled to carve out a consistent role with the Gators.

In his first season with the Gators, the Orange City native had five carries for 32 yards.

In 2021, Lingard saw his workload double, accumulating 43 yards on 11 carries.

Over the 2022 season, Lingard recorded 10 carries for 75 yards and a touchdown. His best game came against Eastern Washington, where he recorded 45 yards on 5 attempts and scored once.

During his time at Florida, Lingard’s longest rush was 20 yards.
