Gators in the NFL: Week Two

A number of former Florida Gators made their mark on week two of the NFL season in a number of ways.

Here’s a look at all of the UF players’ performances in the league from this past weekend:

Arizona Cardinals

DJ Humphries – Humphries started at left tackle on Sunday for the Cardinals in their 29-23 win over the Las Vegas Raiders.

Marco Wilson – Wilson finished with four total tackles in the Cardinals win.

Atlanta Falcons

Kyle Pitts – the 2020 Mackey Award winner finished with two receptions for 19 yards as the Falcons fell short to the Rams 31-27.

Feleipe Franks and Teez Tabor did not record any stats on Sunday.

Baltimore Ravens

Demarcus Robinson – in arguably the game of the week between the Ravens and the Miami Dolphins, Robinson caught one pass for 12 yards and a touchdown.

Buffalo Bills

Kaiir Elam – Elam finished with four total tackles and one pass deflection as the Bills cruised to a 41-7 win over the Tennessee Titans on Monday night.

Carolina Panthers

CJ Henderson – Henderson recorded one tackle and defended one pass on Sunday.

Eddy Piñeiro – Piñeiro made one extra point and hit three field goals in the Panthers’ 19-16 loss to the New York Football Giants.

Cincinnati Bengals

Evan McPherson – McPherson hit all three of his field goals in the loss to the Dallas Cowboys. All of his field goals were 40 yards or more. 

Rookie defensive lineman Zach Carter recorded no stats on Sunday.

Cleveland Browns

Taven Bryan – the 2018 first round draft pick recorded one tackle in the Browns’ 31-30 loss to the New York Jets.

Dallas Cowboys

Dante Fowler Jr. – In his eighth year in the league, Fowler Jr. recorded two total tackles, one sack, one pass deflection and a forced fumble in the Cowboys’ victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.

Malik Davis – Davis did not record any stats on Sunday.

Denver Broncos

Tyrie Cleveland – the 2020 seventh round pick helped the Broncos to a win over the Houston Texans with two receptions on three targets for 28 yards.

Detroit Lions

Alex Anzalone – Anzalone recorded six total tackles on Sunday.

Jarrad Davis did not record any stats for the Lions in their 38-35 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Green Bay Packers

TJ Slaton – Slaton recorded no stats in the Packers’ win over the Chicago Bears.

Houston Texans

Jonathan Greenard – Greenard recorded one tackle for loss and two quarterback hits in the Texans’ 16-9 loss at the Denver Broncos.

Dameon Pierce – the rookie running back rushed the ball 15 times for 69 yards and one reception for 8 yards on Sunday.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Jawaan Taylor – Taylor made another start for the Jaguars on Sunday in their shutout win over the Indianapolis Colts.

Kansas City Chiefs

Carlos Dunlap – the 13-year NFL veteran recorded three total tackles in the Chiefs’ Thursday night win.

Tommy Townsend – Townsend punted the ball six times on Thursday night with an average of 55.5 yards and a long of 74.

Los Angeles Rams

Brandon Powell – Powell caught one pass for 6 yards and had one rushing attempt for -26 yards. 

Van Jefferson recorded no stats in the Rams’ win as he continues to recover from knee surgery.

Miami Dolphins

Freddie Swain recorded no stats in the Dolphins’ win over the Baltimore Ravens.

Minnesota Vikings

Jonathan Bullard – Bullard recorded three tackles in the Vikings’ Monday night loss in Philadelphia.

New England Patriots

Trent Brown started again at left tackle for the Patriots in their win in Pittsburgh.

New Orleans Saints

Marcus Maye – Maye recorded four total tackles in the Saints’ division loss to Tampa Bay.

New York Giants

Kadarius Toney – the 2021 first round draft pick recorded two catches in the Giants’ win over the Carolina Panthers.

New York Jets

Marcell Harris recorded no stats in the Jets’ 31-30 win over the Cleveland Browns.

Philadelphia Eagles

CJ Gardner-Johnson – the recent Eagles addition made five total tackles in Philadelphia’s win over the Minnesota Vikings.

Seattle Seahawks 

Jabari Zuniga – Zuniga finished with three total tackles with one sack and one forced fumble in the Seahawks’ 27-7 loss at San Francisco.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Keanu Neal – Neal had no stats in the Buccaneers’ 20-10 win over the New Orleans Saints.

Kyle Trask and Fred Johnson recorded no stats in the Bucs’ win.

Washington Commanders 

Jon Bostic – Bostic recorded no stats in the Commanders’ loss to the Detroit Lions.
