Jason Marshall Jr. injury update: Florida Gators CB out for the season
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida Gators starting cornerback Jason Marshall Jr. is out for the season with a shoulder injury, Gators Online has learned. Marshall hurt his labrum and will require surgery.
The senior cornerback was injured during the homecoming game against Kentucky and did not return. He started all seven games this season and has been a four-year starter at UF.
Marshall recorded 13 tackles, four pass breakups and a forced fumble in 2024 prior to his injury. He has 98 tackles, 26 pass breakups two interceptions and a sack in his career.
He returned for his senior season and improved his draft stock with his play this year.
“I feel good. At the end of the day, there’s always still something to be corrected, something to be worked on. I’m not settling here, still more work to be done,” Marshall said of the first month of the season. “I feel like I’m playing much better. It’s just always having that confidence.
“Going out, reading my keys, read what I need to read, just going out there and playing football at the end of the day. Just beeing comfortable in my skin and playing football. I’ve been playing football since I was five. Why not go out there and have fun?”
