GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The No. 10 Florida Gators won their five consecutive game against rival Florida State on Tuesday with a 78-73 victory in the O’Dome. UF overcame a 40-37 halftime deficit and another poor 3-point shooting night (6-for-31) with a dominant performance on the glass and four Gators in double figures.

The Gators took their first lead in the second half with an 11-0 run and outscored FSU 17-4 over a six-minute stretch (12:38 to 6:32). The Seminoles cut the deficit to one with a 10-2 run as UF went over four minutes without a field goal, but Urban Klavzar hit a corner 3-pointer with 59 seconds left to push the lead 74-70.

Florida was led by double-doubles from Thomas Haugh, who scored a 20 points with 13 rebounds, and Rueben Chinyelu, who grabbed a career-high 16 boards with 10 points. Boogie Fland scored 18 points and his first two 3-pointers, while Alex Condon added 11 points. Robert McCray V had a team-high 29 for FSU.

Florida leads the all-time series 48-29, including a 24-9 mark in Gainesville.

The lob from Haugh to Chinyelu was UF’s first field goal in 4:43. Haugh (20 points, 12 rebounds) and Chinyelu (10 points, 16 rebounds) both have double-doubles for the Gators.

SCORE UPDATE: Florida 66, FSU 57 (7:36 2H)

The Gators are on an 11-0 run and a 14-2 run over the last 5:02. The Noles haven’t scored in 3:13. Back-to-back buckets by Boogie Fland, including his second 3-pointer of the game, forced FSU to burn a timeout. Fland has 14 points on 5-for-9 shooting.

SCORE UPDATE: Florida 55, FSU 55 (11:45 2H)

The Gators have tied the game for the second time in this half after Boogie Fland’s first 3-pointer of the season and the offensive rebound and dunk by Haugh, who’s up to 18 points.

SCORE UPDATE: FSU 50, Florida 47 (15:14 2H)

The Gators tied the game up before FSU hit its seventh 3-pointer of the game. The Seminoles are 7-21 from downtown (33.3%), while UF is 3-19 (15.8%) so far. Haugh has scored five straight points and hit his second trey.

HALF: FSU 40, Florida 37

The Gators are dominating the glass (28-15) but struggling again from 3 (2-for-14) and committed 11 turnovers. UF’s Thomas Haugh and FSU’s Chauncey Wiggins led all scorers with 11 points. Both teams shot 12-for-32 in the first half.

SCORE UPDATE: Florida 31, FSU 31 (3:59)

Florida State had another 7-0 run to take its first lead of the game, 25-23. The Gators are winning the rebounding battle 23-12, but they’re just 2-for-12 from 3 with eight turnovers.

SCORE UPDATE: Florida 13, FSU 12 (12:21 1H)

The Seminoles went on a 7-0 run to tie the game at 12. The Gators had scoring drought for 2:29 before Isaiah Brown split a pair of free throws to put Florida back in front.

SCORE UPDATE: Florida 7, FSU 5 (15:45 1H)

The Gators have missed their last five shots and six of their last six attempts, including a 1-for-4 start from downtown. The good news: UF is outrebounding the Noles 8-2 early.
