On Monday afternoon, the Gators announced that safety Kamari Wilson and offensive lineman Kamryn Waites officially enrolled in Gainesville.

Wilson, one of the nation’s elite safeties, is fresh off lacing up the cleats at the Under Armour All-America Game. He is the third-ranked safety and 37th-ranked player overall in the On3 Consensus Rankings.

Prior to choosing the Gators during the Early Signing Period, Wilson considered offers from Georgia, Texas A&M, Florida State and LSU among many others. He officially visited Florida on Dec. 10 and then signed the following week.

Wilson, a product of IMG Academy, is arguably Billy Napier’s biggest win on the recruiting trail.

“I feel like Florida has a great plan for me when I came down there for the official visit,” Wilson recently told On3’s Joseph Hastings and others. “They got Corey Raymond, and they got coach PC. And they showed me how I’ll be used, and it fits me. The scheme fits me, and I’m going in, everybody’s knowing the playbook, got to really know the playbook, and it’s a good position for me to start. I’m from Florida, and my dream school is Florida, so I had to make that decision.”

As for Waites, a 6-foot-8, 358-pound offensive tackle, he just signed with the Gators earlier this afternoon.

The Dallas native played his freshman year under Napier at Louisiana and entered the transfer portal on Dec. 21. He played in three games during his first year on the collegiate level and is the second offensive lineman to sign with the Gators, joining Christian Williams.

Prior to teaming up with the Ragin’ Cajuns, Waites did not report any additional scholarship offers. He played basketball on the prep level as well.

Additional early enrollees for the Gators

Three additional UF signees will also be available for spring football: Safety Devin Moore, offensive tackle David Conner and defensive tackle Chris McClellan.

Moore and McClellan, a pair of four-star prospects, are both playing in this week’s All-American Bowl in San Antonio.
