Eight programs are on the short list for 2024 Largo (Fla.) standout, Adarius Hayes, who dished out his official list of top schools on Thursday.

An Under Armour All-American and highly-regarded linebacker, Hayes has narrowed his list to Florida, Georgia, Ohio State, Alabama, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Notre Dame and UCF.

Several weeks ago, I submitted a pick for the Gators through the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. As expected, they currently have the highest RPM odds as well, checking in with a percentage of nearly 89 percent.

Representing Largo (Fla.) High, Hayes has made four trips to Gainesville in 2022. He is likely attending another game this fall, so familiarity with the staff is already fairly high.

While Hayes can also turn heads at EDGE, inside linebackers coach Jay Bateman serves as his lead recruiter. The Gators extended an offer just days after Billy Napier’s arrival in Gainesville and have been prioritizing the Sunshine State native ever since.

“UF is the dream school for me and I grew up watching them play on TV. I used to watch Tim Tebow play football for the Gators. I also like the Gators’ mascots Albert and Alberta,” Hayes previously told GO.

“It was very emotional for me and my family. They were very proud of me when I got the offer. They told me to keep up the great work on and off the field.”

The Gators already hold a commitment from one 2024 All-American linebacker in Myles Graham. If Hayes follows in his footsteps, it would provide Florida with a dynamic duo at the position.

According to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Hayes ranks as the No. 6 linebacker and No. 55 prospect regardless of position. He is a top-15 prospect in the Sunshine State as well.
