FSU announces game-day changes for Doak Campbell Stadium this season

The Florida State football experience will be updated and improved heading into a 2022 home slate that includes rivals Florida and Clemson.

On Friday afternoon, FSU announced several changes and updates for Doak Campbell Stadium; the announcements were emailed to season ticket holders.

Here’s a statement from FSU athletics director Michael Alford as well as a summary of the changes.

“I hope you share our excitement as the start of the 2022 football season draws closer.  The reports from preseason football practices have been overwhelmingly positive and the atmosphere is electric around this football team.

“We are eager to welcome you back to Doak Campbell Stadium where you will find an improved experience.  In addition to numerous enhancements to our food and beverage experience this season, we are pleased to be able to make the fan-friendly changes and additions listed below.

“We continue to work each day to make your experience at all of our venues the best that it can be and we deeply appreciate your support of Florida State Athletics.”

Expected changes for the FSU Football fan experience

Gate Openings

  • All main stand stadium gates at Doak Campbell Stadium will now open 90 minutes before kickoff, which is a change from previous seasons when gates opened two hours before the start of the game.
  • Entry to all Suite and Club seating remains two hours prior to kickoff.
  •  Booster Parking Lots will remain on the same schedule as previous seasons opening five hours before kickoff or no later than noon.

Concessions

  • Legends has purchased and installed a new system that will mean faster transactions at every point of sale throughout the stadium.  In addition, Legends will use the new technology to modify the process at some concession stands allowing the guests to order from kiosks and pick up purchases at a window.
  • Stadium Markets have been installed inside Doak Campbell that will provide guests with expanded snack and beverage options.
  • Legends has changed the serving process for beverages which should significantly  improve the speed of service.
  • New Oyster City Beer Gardens are located at sections 118 and 122
  • Vendors inside Doak Campbell Stadium in 2022 include; Chick-Fil-A, World of Beer, Tijuana Flats, and new to Doak this season will be Brisas Empanadas, Shakes Frozen Custard, and Oyster City Brewery.

Ford Fanfest at Langford Green

  • The Ford Fan Fest area located on Langford Green will be home to the Seminole Radio Network pregame radio show with Hosts Jeff Culhane and William Floyd.  Fans will also find inflatable games and activities for kids, as well as local food trucks and the new Oyster City Brewing Company fan refreshment area.
  • Along with those events at Langford Green, FSU fans will get a chance to watch the new Voice of the Seminoles Jeff Culhane and the radio crew live from the Ford Fanfest beginning 2 ½ hours before kickoff up until they head up to the booth an hour before the start of the game.

Seating Areas

  • Our multi-media partner, Learfield, has worked with us to expand the live coverage area of the video boards on both the north and south ends of the stadium.  You should notice an even better video experience as well as increased statistical information and more live scores from other games.
  • The installation of the recognitions of our National Championships, ACC Championships, All-Americans and Ring of Honor for our Retired Jerseys/Numbers will continue throughout the season within the bowl of the stadium.
  • Section 120 is a new amenities seating section in the south end zone with custom chairs, tables and expanded service options.

Cool Zones Return

  • The Cool Zones (misting stations) inside Doak Campbell Stadium will return this season. Both are located on the ground level at the South end of the stadium with the West side location inside Gate D under section 28 and the East side location inside Gate G under section 118.

Ride Share (Uber, Lyft, etc.)

  • Drop-off and pick-up locations to facilitate ride sharing (Uber, Lyft, etc.) have been formalized and will allow for better accommodation than in the past.  The West side location is on Stadium Drive near the Medical School.  The East side location is in CollegeTown at the corner of W Madison St and Collier.
