UPDATE (5:12 p.m. ET) — Florida State defensive lineman Tyeland Coleman intends to enter the transfer portal, per On3’s Pete Nakos.

Coleman was a JUCO signee in the Seminoles’ 2025 recruiting class. He recorded two total tackles (one for loss) this season in FSU’s win over East Texas A&M.

Coleman played in 11 games for Northwest Mississippi Community College in 2024, totaling 30 tackles, 3.5 for loss and 1.5 sacks. He also had three quarterback hurries and a pass breakup.

ORIGINAL STORY — The Florida State football team is expected to lose its top offensive line signee from the 2025 recruiting class.

Mario Nash, who was a four-star prospect and originally committed to former FSU offensive line coach Alex Atkins, stuck with the Seminoles through a coaching change last December. But after going through the 2025 season, he has decided to enter the transfer portal.

The news was first reported by On3’s Hayes Fawcett and confirmed by Warchant.

Nash was rated the No. 25 offensive tackle in the country and the No. 11 prospect in Mississippi.

When he met with the media in February, Nash said he decided to sign with Florida State despite the coaching change because he believed in head coach Mike Norvell.

“It caught me by surprise,” Nash said of Atkins’ departure. “It did. But I stuck with FSU because I believe in what Coach Norvell is doing here. And the vision that we have here and the culture and things like that.”

Nash, who did not play as a freshman, chose the Seminoles over offers from Clemson, LSU, Ole Miss and others.

He is the third young Florida State player to announce intentions of entering the transfer portal this month, joining fellow freshman defensive end L A Jessie Harrold and redshirt freshman linebacker Jayden Parrish.

These decisions come at a time when Norvell is conducting exit interviews with every player on the Seminoles’ roster, as he does after each season.

The NCAA transfer portal officially opens on Jan. 2 this cycle, and it will remain open for 15 days.
