FSU keeps momentum going as 2027 tight end Connor Winn commits to 'Noles

Just last week, the FSU football staff landed a big tight end commitment for the 2026 recruiting class when Xavier Tiller jumped on board with the Seminoles.
On Tuesday, FSU landed another tight end for the future as three-star Bartram Trail product Connor Winn announced he will be a Seminole as well. Winn is in the Class of 2027, so he is entering his junior season in high school.
Even though he is an underclassman, Winn is a prospect the Seminoles have spent a lot of time on this spring and summer, trying to position themselves to make a run. He previously was committed to Rutgers but wants to be closer to home.
This is the latest recruiting victory for FSU tight ends coach Chris Thomsen, who has been on quite a run the last couple of years, picking up four-star standouts Landen Thomas, Chase Loftin and Tiller.
Winn becomes the third commitment of FSU’s 2027 class, joining four-star defensive back Mekhi Williams and four-star athlete Bryce Williams.

The Jacksonville-area standout held offers from Rutgers, Syracuse, Maryland and Central Florida before jumping on board with FSU.
Michael’s analysis on Winn commitment to FSU
Yes, it’s early to grab a commitment for the 2027 recruiting class. But when there’s a chance to land an underrated talent that is likely going to end up becoming a national recruit, it’s never too early.
Winn is a very versatile tight end who can do similar things to what we’ve heard about true freshman Chase Loftin. He’s a very good blocker and has a great feel for running routes and exploiting mismatches on defense.
Other in-state schools are expected to make a push for Winn as well, so this recruitment is really just beginning. But the Seminoles are in a great place to start.
