Even though the NCAA Recruiting Calendar switched to a “dead period” for the month of February — meaning schools cannot have in-person contact with recruits — the Florida State football staff is still plenty active with prospects for the Class of 2024.

There were a number of developments in Florida State recruiting on Thursday, particularly with out-of-state recruits, and here’s a rundown of all the latest:

4-star WR delays commitment

Mississippi wideout Noreel White, who is the nation’s 29 wide receiver according to On3, recently listed Florida State among his top four schools and said he planned to make his commitment next week on Feb. 7.

On Thursday, however, White told On3 that he was going to have to push that date back because he didn’t get to attend as many Junior Day events as he had hoped. White’s top four are FSU, LSU, Mississippi State and Ole Miss.

Here’s more on White’s delay and what’s coming next.

Seminoles offer 4-star offensive tackle

Florida State’s coaching staff has multiple connections to the state of Texas, and the Seminoles are trying to tap into them with a new offer to four-star offensive tackle Michael Uini.

Uini, who is rated the nation’s No. 6 offensive tackle by the On3 Consensus, is currently the No. 119 prospect overall. He is listed at 6-foot-7 and 275 pounds.

This is his 33rd Division-I offer. Here’s more on Uini’s recruitment.

Maryland 4-star DE receives offer from FSU

Florida State might have a difficult time catching favorite Penn State in this recruitment, but the Seminoles threw their hat in the ring Thursday with an offer to four-star Maryland pass-rusher Jaylen Harvey.

Harvey, who is one of the country’s top 20 pass-rushers according to the On3 Consensus, plans to announce his top five schools next month. He announced his new offer from Florida State on social media.
