Suwanee (Ga.) Collins Hill athlete Travis Hunter says he remains committed to Florida State, but the nation’s No. 2 overall player is getting the recruiting full-court press from in-state Georgia.

Hunter, who has been pledged to the Seminoles since March, is back on campus in Athens for the Bulldogs’ showdown with No. 11 Kentucky according to DawgsHQ‘s Palmer Thombs. He also visited Georgia two weeks ago for the Arkansas game.

The 6-foot-2, 160-pound Hunter, who missed Collins Hill’s game last night with an ankle injury, was visited by Georgia head coach Kirby Smart and analyst Will Muschamp. Smart arrived in style, landing in a helicopter near the field.

Travis Hunter is locked in with FSU right now

Amid the overtures from Smart and Co., Hunter says he remains committed to Florida State. The Seminoles have become a prime target for teams looking to pick off committed players with so much turmoil in the program and uncertainty about Norvell’s future.

Georgia told Hunter that even after he committed to FSU in March, they “weren’t going to stop recruiting me.”

He told ClemsonSports’ Joseph Hastings that things aren’t serious between him and the ‘Dawgs, though.

“I’m pretty much locked in with Florida State right now. My mind ain’t changing a little bit,” Hunter said. “I’m not really keeping in touch with Georgia. I just went up there to watch a game, really. I let them do their job. [Last I spoke with them] was probably two weeks ago. I pretty much don’t talk with them like that.”

Hunter posted a tweet less than an hour before Thursday night’s game that read: “I’m a Nole Nothing More Nothing Less I’m Not Decommitting Stop That Rumor Go Noles.”

Georgia is hosting a loaded visitors’ weekend

Rumors of Hunter returning to Athens this weekend for the top-ranked Bulldogs’ showdown with No. 11 Kentucky have been floating around for multiple days now. He joins a stacked list of visitors that the Bulldogs hope can convince him to reconsider his commitment.

Top-100 wide receiver Luther Burden will be on his official visit ahead of a scheduled commitment on Tuesday, as will five-star USC defensive line commit Mykel Williams. Also expected is recent Miami decommit and four-star defensive back Tre’Quon Fegans. The nation’s No. 1 overall player, EDGE Marvin Jones Jr., is expected in as well. If Travis Hunter joins that group, the Bulldogs might just have the most talent on a weekend visit we’ve seen in recent memory.
