George Pickens quickly becoming a Pittsburgh Steelers favorite

George Pickens is yet to play a down for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

That hasn’t stopped him from commanding the buzz of an elite NFL playmaker.

Pittsburgh’s in-house media team discussed their favorite “value” NFL Draft picks, and George Pickens was the selection right out of the gate on their panel.

Not only that, but he was a unanimous decision.

You can check out the clip below:

George Pickens a “value” pick? It makes sense, if you think he should have been a first-rounder before the Pittsburgh Steelers’ pick

George Pickens went number 52 overall in the 2022 NFL Draft’s second round.

The panel even compared Pickens to elite Ole Miss product DK Metcalf because of their later selections. Metcalf went 64th overall to the Seattle Seahawks in 2019.

While Pickens isn’t quite as imposing as Metcalf physically, their Draft fates do bear that similarity. Metcalf’s slide happened after a not-so-great NFL Combine.

Pickens, of course, came off of a torn ACL in the 2021 offseason that limited his results on the field last season.

His misfortune was ultimately the Pittsburgh Steelers’ gain.

As Arthur Moats points out in the clip, without the injury, George Pickens likely isn’t even available for the Steelers if he stays healthy.

George Pickens’s Georgia teammates repeatedly pointed to him as the Dawg who would have the most NFL success

If that prediction mentioned in the video turns out to be true, the Pittsburgh Steelers may have won the NFL Draft lottery.

With 15 Dawgs selected in this year’s Draft, the best among them = the best among the most elite NFL Draft class of all time.

It’s interesting to hear Pickens slated as a “value” NFL Draft pick when he went in the second round.

I’d expect a later-round draft pick out of that panel. But the tape tells the story.

Kenny Pickett to George Pickens could get the Terrible Towels waving for many years to come in Pittsburgh.

They do love their Georgia wide receivers up there.
